ヤンキースの井川慶投手が大リーグに昇格することが２７日、決まった。今季２度目の昇格となる。 松井秀喜の故障者リスト入りが決まってから、井川慶のメジャー再昇格も発表された。
２年目の今季は開幕を傘下のマイナー、３Ａスクラントンで迎えた。５月になって昇格。５月９日のタイガース戦に先発したが、４回途中まで１１安打６失点と打ち込まれ、３Ａに降格していた。 ３Ａでの成績は１５試合に先発して７勝４敗、防御率３・４７。
井川慶投手は９点リードの９回に４番手として登板。先頭打者をファーストフライに打ち取るも、直後に２連打を浴びて１死一、二塁とピンチを招く。しかし、落ち着いたピッチングで後続をサードゴロ併殺打に切って取り、１回を無失点に抑えた。
１回を２安打０失点 ０奪三振 ０四球 １４球の内容で勝敗付かず
中継ぎで防御率を４点代ぐらいまで上げて・・・
どこの球団でもいいから先発復帰・・・
