シュルツ救援失敗！ カープ勝率５割への挑戦９度目もならず！（英文）
My wife and I went to visit the shrine to pray before noon today. As we have only one car, my wife's one, she is a driver. When she sat on the driver's seat, I happened to enter the car from the rear door and sat on the rear seat. I didn't know why, but she was surprised and said jokingly, " Why don't you sit on the navigation seat? You don't want to sit by my side, do you? " Of course it was only a mistake. I went out of the car, sat on the navigation seat beside her, and we started to drive to the shrine. She let me listen to Jun Shibata, my favorite 30-year-old beautiful singer song writer, on the way. One reason why I like Jun Shibata is she looks like my wife, though my wife is 10 years older than Jun Shibata. When we reached the shrine and left for the main building, a middle-aged man with a red cap on his head came toward us. I thought in mind, " Oh, here comes a Carp fan. " But he was not wearing a Carp cap, but a normal red cap. On our way home, we went to 'A cafeteria' to have lunch. When we entered the cafeteria, the TV was broadcasting the baseball game, Carp vs. Swallows. Takahashi, Carp's starting pitcher today, was just pitching in the 1st inning, and a runner was on the 1st base. Swallows' batter was Aoki, who is the best in Swallows, so it was a pinch! But as I watched, Aoki hit a grounder to the 3rd base, and Seabol caught it and threw to the 2nd base to get the runner out! " Good job!" When I clap hands and said, my wife was surprised because she didn't notice I was watching the Carp game. The next batter Hatakeyama hit a fly to left and changed innings. I wondered who the left fielder was. He was Shima, but I am not familiar with his fielding this season. I am sorry, Shima. I couldn't tell Swallows' starting pitcher, who pitched rather side-handed, either. I thought the pitcher threw very fast balls though he threw side-handed. He was Masubuchi, the 2nd year young pitcher. I know his name, but I'd never seen him pitch in the game. The waitress brought us ordered lunch. I had ordered karamiso ramen and fried rice, and my wife shouyu ramen and rice balls, but the waitress didn't bring fried rice but curry rice. " Oh, she was mistaken! " my wife said, but I said, " I'm all right. Let's eat fast and go home! " Then she noticed I was watching the Carp game on TV. After we had lunch and my wife paid the bill, she ordered two soft creams. " Don't you want to eat soft cream? " Of course, I like cold dessert after eating a hot and spicy meal. We drove home, eating a soft cream. Today's starting players were as follows; 1.Higashide (second) 2.Akamatsu (center) 3.Alex (right) 4.Kurihara (first) 5.Seabol (third) 6.Shima(left) 7.Soyogi (shortstop) 8.Kura(catcher) 9.Takahashi(pitcher) As today's starting pitcher of Swallows was right-handed Masubuchi, I wondered why Martie chose Akamatsu instead of Amaya. Probably Amaya is not in the best condition. But the order is very defensive because Akamatsu is a specialist in the outfield fielgings. Carp's batter couldn't hit Masubuchi in the first round, but in the 3rd inning, Higashide, Akamatsu, and Alex hit successively and scored the first run tody, too. But Kurihara coudn't hit in this chance. Carp's starting pitcher Takahashi is a veteran left hander and I worried that he could pitch well in hot weather of the daytime game. But he pitched well enough to end only 2 runs in the 6th inning. As a starting pitcher, I think it was a nice pitching! Masubuchi also pitched well, and Carp could score only 1 run in the 6 innings he pitched. But in the 7th inning, Kura hit a two-base hit and Higashide got a clutch hit! Carp caught up with Swallows by the score of two to two. The goddess of victory was, however, very cruel to Carp challenging 9th time trial to 50% winning. In the next 8th inning of Swallows' offense, Shulz went to the mound, but he must have been tired because he had pitched both yesterday and the day before yesterday. This inning first batter Tanaka walked after Shulz threw lots of balls. The next batter Shiroishi advanced Tanaka with a sacrifice bunt, and Hukukawa, the next batter, hit a fly to center. Shluz got two out but the next batter Takeuchi walked again. The next batter was Hukuchi, who played in Carp and a very fast runner. As he doesn't have so much power, Carp's outfielder came forward in case Fukuchi hit to the outfield. As a result the idea was mistaken. Unfortunately, Fukuchi hit so hard and the ball flew very well beyond Amaya, who is the fast outfielder, and two runners ran to the base. If Amaya was in the normal position, he could have caught Fukuchi's fly. This was how Carp failed to reach 50% winning nine times this season. But Carp has no time to be depressed. Carp will have 6 succesive games with Dragons and Tigers, the two best teams in the central league, from the day after tomorrow. Although Carp has little chance to catch up with Tigers, but it is quite possible to finish to the second or third place in this season, when Carp will have a chance to become a champion this year.
