プロフィール
NOBUKAZU KURIKI
Competition:Mountain Climbing & Skiing Hometown:Hokkaido, Japan
He started mountain climbing in his first year of college. On his first foreign expedition, he successfully made a solo-climb of Mt. McKinley, the highest point in North America. After that, he climbed Mt. Aconcagua in South America, the Polish glacier Mt. Elbrus in Europe, Kilimanjaro in Africa, and the Carstensz Pyramid in Oceania.
In May of 2007, he made a solo, no-oxygen-tank climb of the World's 6th Highest Mountain, Cho Oyu (8,201m), and then skied down from 7,700 meters.
He finally cleared Antarctica's highest peak, Mt. Vinson Massif (4,897m) in December. His last target is to be the first Japanese to climb Mt. Everest alone and without oxygen tanks.
This absent-minded and small-framed mountain climber continues to challenge the peaks of the world. He lives in Sapporo and is currently 26 years old.
